Preparation for the Home Buying Process

Hawaii HomeOwnership Center (HHOC) provides support to first-time homebuyers through classes, individual coaching, and post-purchase services. Prospective buyers of Ulana can consider this program to prepare for the purchase process and access resources available.

Program Components

HHOC’s program for first-time buyers includes:

  • Homebuyer Education Classes (by Zoom or a self-paced option)

  • Unlimited Homeownership Coaching - including information about buyer-assistance programs

  • Supplemental Workshops

  • Post-Purchase Support

 

How to Get Started

While supplies last, the Honolulu Board of REALTORS is providing a subsidy of $50 towards the one-time membership fee with a REALTOR referral - that means every household/buying unit (includes everyone involved in the home purchase) only pays $10 towards their membership fee. Under the referral section on the intake form, write in “Howard Hughes/Ulana” to qualify for the subsidy.
